The project involved the design and execution of a Pile foundation on landfill site to support the raft foundation of the Mosque structure. The landfill consisted of about 10 m of organic dump (garbage) deposited over natural soil layer of silty marl formation with interlayers of marlstone. The foundation consisted of 600 mm OD deep piles to a depth of 17 m. The piles capacity was confirmed by means of pile integrity test (LOW STRAIN INTEGIRTY TESTING). The works was supervised and confirmed by the consultant and the technical control office.
