The project involved the design and execution of a shoring system to support high rise buildings with multi-storey residential building. The shoring system involved the construction of large cast in place reinforced concrete piles coupled laterally by four levels of prestressed anchors. The soil consisted of lightly cemented sandy formation with loose blocks of rock mass. The shoring system was designed and implemented to enable excavation depth to be carried out to 17m (4 Basements) using shoring piles D = 500/600mm of length =22m. The face of excavation was covered with structural shotcrete.
